The Band Academy is not about trying to make it in the music industry, it's simply about learning, playing and enjoying music for musics sake. That said you will learn valuable knowledge, gain valuable skills and have fantastic experiences of eventually playing live in a Band.
How does it work?
The number one most important aspect of what makes The Band Academy work is the members' willingness to learn. The Band Academy promotes a positive culture that encourages, helps and supports everyones musical aspirations. We meet at 7:30 pm on Tuesdays ( click for location ) and get stuck into the various subjects that are sure to make you a better musician...

What do you need?
You need to choose between learning the Guitar or Bass and ideally have the following kit:
Electric Guitar or Bass
Practice amp
Plectrums
Music Stand
Headphones
Folder
Pad & Pen
Tuner
What's the aim?
The goal is to give adult beginners a place to go to interact with other budding musicians who are a similar level and gain experience of what it's like to play in a Band. It's about the positive social interaction that playing music together creates. It's also about creating opportunities that encourage you to focus and improve your playing.
Achievements
Every so often I lay out a challenge to focus and improve your playing. They are called achievements and they vary depending on what the individual members of the academy need and where the group is heading. You always have the choice to opt-in or out, however, if you opt-in then these achievements create short periods of a more intense focus than can help move your ability forward and develop your confidence as a musician too.
It's New & Exciting
The Band Academy has been in development as an idea for a long time, in practice I have been experimenting with ideas for years. We launched officially in 2019 so it's all new and very exciting. The amount growth thus fas has been fantastic so come along and join in the fun...
